There are many motivators to step into selling. What is important here is to understand, consciously what yours might be. It is not about being a good or bad reason, only that you are aware of what draws you to this profession.

Initially, I was drawn to sales because that was the only job offer I had received. I always had the perception that salespeople were fast, smooth talkers that would extort money from me for something I did not want. I carried this perception into my first sales position and always feared that people would see me the way I had seen salespeople — as slimy and untrustworthy.
